Haverstraw village’s Board of Trustees has adopted the 2012-13 budget of $8.19 million.
Taxpayers in the village will have to expect a 5.41 percent tax hike.
The budget requires to raise about $6.2 million from taxes. The amount comes under the newly imposed 2 percent tax levy cap.
The tax rate per $1,000 of assessed value is $142.32, and taxes on a home assessed at $15,000 will pay about $2,135, or about $110 more than this year.
