Next week, voters will cast their ballots on their school budgets.
Every Lower Hudson Valley school district plans to be under the state’s mandated 2 percent cap on tax levies, with the exception of Pocantico Hills, which seeks to raise its levy by 12 percent.
District officials throughout the region say they’ve struggled to remain under the cap, especially because they state requires them to provide numerous items, such as special education mandates, without paying for them.
