State officials said today they are adding two community meetings in Westchester and Rockland counties next week on the $5 billion project to replace the Tappan Zee Bridge, The Journal News’ Khurram Saeed reports. Two meetings previously had been scheduled meetings on those days that are geared toward business professionals.
These are the times and locations:
— The Westchester meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Performing Arts Center at Purchase College, 735 Anderson Hill Road, Purchase.
—The Rockland forum will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Rockland Community College Cultural Arts Theatre, 145 College Road, Ramapo.
Larry Schwartz, a top aide to Gov. Andrew Cuomo, and state Thruway Authority Executive Director Tom Madison will provide updates on the project and answer questions from the public. Those who wish to attend are asked to RSVP.
Officials will address the Business Council of Westchester from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Berkeley College in White Plains. They will speak to the Rockland Business Association the same time Thursday at Dominican College in Orangeburg.
The Final Enviromental Impact Statement on the bridge project is expected to be released in the next few weeks.
