A food services company that overcharged for school lunch services will gives Westchester County schools and school districts a $307,000 refund.
On LoHud.com, reporter Marcela Rojas details the settlement Compass Group USA Inc. made with the New York Attorney General’s office. The refund for Westchester schools is part of the $18 million settlement.
Compass was found to have improperly withheld $3 million in vendor rebates from 39 school districts state. An additional $15 million dollars will be returned to state taxpayers.
Among the refunds: Bedford school district will receive $165,373; Westchester Day School and Summer Day will get a $118,183; the refund for the Peekskill school district will be $16,029; and New York School for the Deaf will receive $7,558.
