UPDATE: We’ve postponed this morning’s session, due to weather. We will update with a new time shortly.

Join a discussion at 11 a.m. Wednesday (tk) on New York’s layers of government and the “home rule” laws and local emotions that hamper efforts to consolidate, streamline and share services at the local level. At stake: keeping local control vs. curbing property tax bills that are among the highest in the nation.

The panel includes:

— Linda Puglisi, supervisor of the Town of Cortlandt.

— Jonathan Drapkin, president of Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress, a regional research and planning think tank.

— Alan Hochberg, Hartsdale resident who served as chairman of Greenburgh’s Fire Department Consolidation & Government Efficiency Commission.
