Stephen Baldwin will plead guilty March 29 to one felony count of failing to pay his income taxes after his attorney reached an agreement today that keeps the actor out of jail, The Journal News/lohud.com reports. Baldwin would have to pay back “close to” all of the $350,000 he owes for not paying income taxes in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Baldwin, who lives in Upper Grandview, was charged in December with failing to file state income-tax returns for those three years. He owes more than $350,000 in penalties and interest, according to prosecutors.
If Baldwin, 46, pays the taxes and interest in a year, the felony will be discharged, Yankwitt said. Otherwise, he would have to work out a 5-year payment plan that will include probation.
Assistant Rockland District Attorney Anthony Dellicarri said the county is satisfied with the deal.
